Willy Jung played in the Mens B doubles and the Mixed B doubles. Sheena Mochenski and Jean Austin played in the Ladies B doubles they won second place. Sheena Mochenski and Stefanie Grieser also played Mixed B doubles.  Michael Schaich (Rosie and Joe's son) played in the Mens B singles, and made it to the semi-finals of the consolation, where he lost.

And finally, yes you guessed it, Rosie and Sam won the Ladies A doubles.  Also, in Mixed Doubles, Sam and Trevor Billows from Vernon won the Mixed B, and Rosie teamed up with Al Manson from Kelowna to win the Mixed A. 

What a successful tournament for our club.  Here are the details:

Ladies A Doubles:  Rosie and Sam played against against Meryl Ogden and Lesley Cole (the same team they had defeated in the Hankey Cup in July).  After losing the first set 6-2, Rosie and Sam came back to win the second set 6-3 and the third set  6-4. It was a long hard battle, and finished under the lights at 10 pm Sunday night.

Mixed B Doubles:  Sam Schaich and Tevor Billows defeated Morris and Olivia Vandabasso, a father/daugther team from Vernon in three sets.

Mixed A Doubles:  Rosie Schaich and Al Manson defeated Meryl Ogden from Vernon and Jason Friesen from Kamloops, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Hankey Cup Vernon July 1-2

Rosie Schaich and her daughter Sam won the "A" Ladies Doubles at the Hankey Cup in Vernon July 1, 2.  Their opponents were Leslie Cole from Vancouver and Meryl Ogden from Vernon.  The score was 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Kamloops Sunshine Open August 11-13

At the Kamloops Sunshine Open in August, Rosie and Sam won the Ladies "A"  Doubles, Sam won the Ladies "A" Singles, and Rosie and Bob Langford won the "A" Mixed Doubles.
